Slope Calculator
Find the slope of a line through two points.
What is a slope calculator?
A slope calculator finds the slope of a line through two points. Example: the line through (1,2) and (3,6) has slope 2.
How to use it
Enter two points, then tap Calculate.
Formula
Slope = (y2 − y1) ÷ (x2 − x1). For (1,2) and (3,6): (6 − 2) ÷ (3 − 1) = 4 ÷ 2 = 2. The y-intercept is 0, so the line is y = 2x.
Example
Slope = (6 − 2) ÷ (3 − 1) = 4 ÷ 2 = 2. The line is y = 2x, with y-intercept 0.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the slope through (1,2) and (3,6)?
2.
What is the slope formula?
Slope = (y2 − y1) ÷ (x2 − x1).
What if the x values are the same?
The slope is undefined, the line is vertical.
