Graphing Calculator

Graphing Calculator

Plot a straight line y = mx + b. Enter slope (m) and y-intercept (b).

What is a graphing calculator?

A graphing calculator plots the line y = mx + b on a graph. Example: y = 2x + 1 has slope 2 and y-intercept 1.

How to use it

Enter the slope m and the y-intercept b, then tap Draw Graph. The line is drawn with x and y axes and gridlines.

Reading the graph

Slope m tells how steep the line is. The y-intercept b is where the line crosses the y-axis. For y = 2x + 1, the x-intercept is -0.5.

Example

y = 2x + 1. The slope is 2, so the line rises 2 units for every 1 unit across. The y-intercept is 1, so the line crosses the y-axis at (0, 1), and it crosses the x-axis at (-0.5, 0).
