Exponent Calculator

Exponent Calculator

Find a power, and a square root or nth root.

What is an exponent calculator?

An exponent calculator raises a base to a power. Example: 2^10 = 1,024.

How to use it

Enter the base and the exponent, then tap Calculate Power. Negative and fractional exponents also work. The root section finds square roots and nth roots, for example the square root of 144 is 12.

Formula

base^power means multiply the base by itself power times. So 2^10 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 = 1024.

Example

2^10 means ten 2s multiplied together: 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 = 1,024. A negative exponent flips the result: 2^-1 = 1 ÷ 2 = 0.5.
