Polynomial Calculator
Add or subtract polynomials, and evaluate the result at x.
What is a polynomial calculator?
A polynomial calculator adds or subtracts polynomials and evaluates the result at a value of x. Example: (x² + 2x + 1) + (x + 1) = x² + 3x + 2, which is 12 at x = 2.
How to use it
Enter the coefficients of P and Q, choose Add or Subtract, enter x, then tap Calculate.
Formula
Add or subtract polynomials by combining matching terms: x² terms with x² terms, x terms with x terms, and constants with constants. To evaluate at a value of x, replace x with that value and work out the result.
Example
Add matching terms: x² stays x², 2x + x = 3x, 1 + 1 = 2. So the sum is x² + 3x + 2. At x = 2: 4 + 6 + 2 = 12.
Frequently Asked Questions
